Learn how to manage debt, understand the impact of inflation, and make your money work harder for you. The session will also explore simple and compound interest, the financial challenges of living longer, and ways to make more informed financial decisions. Whether you are building your financial foundation or looking for ways to improve your current habits, this workshop will give you useful knowledge to apply to everyday life. About Our Speakers Vannak Theng Vannak Theng is an educator, community leader, and financial educator who works to strengthen families and communities. Born in Battambang, Cambodia, she survived the Khmer Rouge regime and lived in Khao-I-Dang Refugee Camp in Thailand before immigrating to the United States at age 12. Vannak has 26 years of experience in education and currently teaches multilingual learners in Lowell Public Schools. She holds degrees from UMass Lowell, Fitchburg State University, and American International University. Beyond her work in education, Vannak serves on several nonprofit boards and advisory groups. She is also a licensed life and health insurance producer with Burlington Community Financial Center, where she helps families improve their financial awareness and protection. Ryan Lipson Ryan Lipson is a licensed financial professional with 19 years of experience serving clients in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Texas, New Jersey, and New York. His expertise includes retirement planning, investments, insurance, taxation, and debt management. Through his work, Ryan helps individuals and families better understand their financial options. In addition to working with clients, Ryan offers free financial workshops both in person and online. These sessions cover topics ranging from debt management to wealth building. His goal is to make financial education more accessible and help people make informed decisions. Ryan also contributes to his community through tax assistance initiatives. He has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide free federal and state tax preparation for eligible low and moderate income taxpayers. He has also offered free tax counseling for older adults.
