Happier At Work! How The Science Of Happiness Boosts Productivity And Joy

Research shows that happier people are more successful, better leaders and negotiators, are healthier and live longer and are less likely to get divorced among many other advantages. Many times we think “I’ll be happy when I get that promotion at work, that raise or when I retire…” but studies show that is a trap you don’t want to fall into.

Shawn Achor, shares in his Ted Talk, The Happy Secret to Better Work, the following research:

“Only 25% of job success is predicted by IQ. 75% of job success is predicted by optimism levels, social support and ability to see stress as a challenge instead of a threat.”

He further states, “Your brain on positive performs significantly better than on negative, neutral or stressed. Intelligence rises, creativity rises, energy levels rise. Every business outcome improves when you’re brain is on positive. 31% more productive; 37% better at sales; doctors are 19% faster and more accurate at making the correct diagnosis…”
